This gun-happy sequel to G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra has been high on geeks' want-to-see meter ever since two things happened: The Rock signed on to crack heads and that trailer gave us a mountain-side ninja fight. We've been waiting for a while ... now it looks like we're going to have to wait a lot longer.
As we reported yesterday, the G.I. Joe sequel has been pushed from June 29, 2012 to March 29, 2013. At the time, the reasons—aside from additional time for converting the film to 3D—were mere speculation. Now, the Rock clears it up. Sorta.
Just a few days ago, we learned from our main man Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson that G.I. Joe: Retaliation's release was being pushed back to March 29, 2013 in order to convert the film to 3D. But today we learned there's another reason why it was pushed back and yep ... it was because the test screenings tanked.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was, generously speaking, not good. But the upside is that the sequel has no where to go but up. And by the looks of it, G.I. Joe: Retaliation has picked up that gauntlet, filled it with gunpowder and muscle, and jammed it down Cobra Commander's throat.
