Guillermo del Toro has loved the 1973 made-for-TV horror movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark since he was a child. In fact, he's been trying to bring it to the big screen since 1998. After all these years, he finally got what he wanted: a feature film ... that's rated R.
When we saw Guillermo del Toro at Comic-Con, he told us that Don't be Afraid of the Dark, which he produced and co-wrote, had ended up with an R rating due to "pervasive scariness." Once you check out his creepy trailer, you'll understand what the heck he was talking about.
