Get your sonic screwdriver ready, because Doctor Who is back in less than a week—and judging by the latest trailer, The Doctor (Matt Smith) is going to have his work cut out for him with a whole lot of Daleks.
We're weeks away from the eagerly anticipated Doctor Who season 7 premiere, and a few tantalizing details have emerged from the Time Vortex about that first, Dalek-filled episode. *SPOILERS AHEAD*
Guess we truly haven't the last of those pesky evil space pepperpots, the Daleks, on Doctor Who! While we knew the Doctor's (Matt Smith) most enduring mortal enemies were set for a return appearance in the upcoming seventh season of the show (we did see a Dalek eye-stalk in the first preview trailer last week), it appears that we may get to see more of them than we thought.
We've seen enough Doctor Who to know that Daleks are pretty scary. But we have a Dalek here, constructed by do-it-yourselfer "Wendell," that's a little less ominous than most: instead of metallic armor and a sensory array, it's built out of pumpkin. But wait ... it gets better.
Doctor Who has been on (and off) the air since 1963, and in that time, our Gallifreyan friend has made a few enemies. Although some of these adversaries made us shiver throughout the episode, a few of them genuinely disturbed our dreams for days, weeks and years to come.
A Doncaster (England) man has just broken a Guinness World Record with a whopping collection of 571 Daleks. Yes, 571 Daleks. And it's the largest collection featuring our favorite space pepperpots in the world. Funny thing is ... the guy's not even a Doctor Who fan.
