The Hobbit is so close to coming out that, basically, every day is a new opportunity for Peter Jackson and co. to give us another taste of what's in store. This time, we get a voiceover from Gandalf, some dwarf shenanigans, and Bilbo facing off against none other than Gollum himself.
We know it's been a decade or so since Peter Jackson first started playing around in Middle-earth with Lord of the Rings, but judging by a new pic from his upcoming Hobbit trilogy, he hasn't lost his Tolkien-esque flair.
One thing we've always loved about Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films is the blend of drama and comedy that he managed to pull off, and from what we've seen so far, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will continue that fine and funny tradition. Take for instance this new TV spot, where Bilbo Baggins tries to talk his way out of being dinner for a trio of hungry trolls.
Here's a quick 101 on the recent Hobbit rumors. Martin Freeman, who plays Dr. Watson in the BBC's Sherlock series, was allegedly offered the role of Bilbo Baggins but turned it down, although no one was sure if any of that really happened. Today, it not only looks like it happened, but there's suddenly a very good chance he'll end up playing Bilbo.
