Now that we know Terra Nova is extinct at Fox, it's time to start pondering what effect its demise might have on another Monday night genre drama in a precarious position: Alcatraz. Could the end of Terra Nova mean another year on The Rock?

It's definitely a time for change on the genre TV scene. Spring and summer shows have begun their invasion, while fall dramas are either wrapping up their seasons or getting the boot from their networks. This week we added Awake, which premiered to so-so numbers, to our list, and said goodbye to A Gifted Man, which ended its run on a high but may be facing cancellation very soon.

Considering that J.J. Abrams is behind Fox's Alcatraz, it's not too surprising that the show features quite a few flashbacks. Abrams' used character flashbacks like an art on Lost, and the stories told in 1960 on Alcatraz are usually pretty good. But, did you know the initial cut of the show was apparently even more flashback-heavy than what made it to air?

Lots of shows to talk about this week, but the one everyone's going to remember is Game of Thrones. Last season's numbers were strong, but they're nothing compared to the season two premiere, leaving us with the assumption that season three is imminent. Meanwhile, Alcatraz stumbled in its season finale, Touch took its first big drop and Awake hit a new low.
