There are a lot of theories out there about just where Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series will fit into the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and those theories were only spurred along by whispers that Clark "Agent Phil Coulson" Gregg would be lending his talents to the project. So is it a prequel to The Avengers? Is it a different timeline altogether? We've got an answer.

Yes, we're all excited about Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. series rolling down the fast track over at ABC. But it seems one smaller sci-fi show might have to bite the dust to make room for the touted Avengers spin-off.

You're in luck, Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue fans. We're far enough into the new season that freshmen shows are starting to drop like flies, but at least these two recent casualties at ABC will be able to wrap things up with a proper finale.
