Neil Marshall: This British filmmaker broke out in a big way with his second feature, the modern horror classic The Descent (his first, Dog Soldiers, is quite good as well), but his only major studio outing so far, Doomsday, did not fare well. He's since done solid work with a movie called Centurion and several episodes of Constantine, Black Sails and Game of Thrones, including the latter's stunning "Blackwater." That piece of film should be enough alone to get him at least a meeting inside the hallowed halls of Lucasfilm. Marshall is a superb technician but not as strong with character, which could be a minus. His sensibilities, like those of Matthew Vaughn, may also skew a little too dark and rough.
