The Zero Theorem
This 2013 film features a computer programmer waiting for a phone call with the meaning of life. Then, in true Terry Gilliam fashion, the film somehow finds a way to get even weirder.
The MPAA banned this poster due to this bare butt of lead actor Christopher Waltz. This prompted Gilliam to facebook, "Zero Theorem off to a good start in the US thanks to the Motion Picture Association of America’s censors." In fact, this statement proved true when the image soon went viral, giving the film far more publicity than if the poster had been approved for display. You heard it here first: Sex is no longer pandering to the lowest denominator of moviegoers; it's actually insightful viral marketing.
