First look at Neil Gaiman's How To Talk To Girls At Parties film

We have our first real look at the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman's How to Talk to Girls at Parties, courtesy of Instagram videos from director John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), actress Elle Fanning and Neil himself.

The film stars Fanning as a foreign exchange student (who's actually an alien), Alex Sharp as the very human young punk rocker who falls in love with her, and Nicole Kidman as Boadicea, the local punk queen. Kidman looks like she's having an absolute blast, and she's always fun when she's having fun.

With both Mitchell and Gaiman on board, there's plenty of alien punk weirdness to go around. Fanning's Zan is wonderfully blank (if that makes sense) and Sharp's Enn feels familiar to anyone who's ever felt out of place or awkward. Throw the London punk scene in the '70s in the mix and it really kinda works.
