Explore the sounds of Blade Runner with this mini-documentary

A film's score can completely change the way you experience that movie. Think about the Imperial March from Star Wars or basically any of the movements used in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Those films simply wouldn't be the same without their iconic music.

Neither would Blade Runner (1982).

One YouTuber has taken it upon himself to highlight that score and the way it interacts with the other audio elements in the film. He places a special emphasis on composer, Vangelis', use of reverb as a means of evoking a futuristic, dreamlike state throughout the film, while also highlighting the way the score interacts with diegetic sound throughout the movie, making it as much a part of the environment as the dialogue and sound effects.
