TV THIS WEEK: The Expanse and Magicians finales, new S.H.I.E.L.D. and Doctor Who

This week brings a few big finales, as well as some fresh episodes for several fan favorites. From The Expanse to Doctor Who, here's the rundown.

The Syfy originals The Magicians and The Expanse both wrap their second seasons this week, while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues its adventure in the Framework. We also have new episodes of everything from Last Man on Earth to the Doctor Who spinoff Class, along with a good movie or two worth catching on some slow nights.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Tuesday 10PM - "No Regrets"

Daisy, Simmons and Faux-Ward continue their mission in the Framework and we finally learn why Fitz turned into a stone cold killer.


The Magicians (Syfy), Wednesday 9PM - "We Have Brought You Little Cakes"

SEASON FINALE: Quentin, Eliot, Julia and Margo put it all on the line to protect Fillory as Season 2 comes to an end.


The Expanse (Syfy), Wednesday 10PM - "Caliban's War"

SEASON FINALE: The solar system reaches a tipping point as the Roci crew fight to save the ship.


Doctor Who (BBC America), Saturday 9PM - "Smile"

Peter Capaldi's final season continues as The Doctor takes Bill to a distant planet that is mysteriously missing its colonists.


The Last Man on Earth (Fox), Sunday 9:30 p.m. - "Name 20 Picnics … Now!"

The gang throws a huge party for every major holiday, because why not? But Todd and Tandy's bromance hits the skids and could put the kibosh on party time.

Monday, April 17

Bates Motel (A&E), Monday 10PM - "Visiting Hours"

Norman's legal problems worsen; Emma tends to family business as Dylan gets caught between his past and his future; and Romero enacts his plan for revenge.


Scorpion (CBS), Monday 10PM - "Strife on Mars"

The team get trapped inside a failing and dangerous bio-dome designed for Mars while trying to extract a pair of scientists inside.

Tuesday, April 18

Face Off (Syfy), Tuesday 9PM - "Gargoyle Guardians"

The final four must create a gargoyle inspired by a different style of architecture.


iZombie (The CW), Tuesday 9PM - "Eat, Pray, Liv"

To help Clive solve the murder of a lifestyle guru, Liv consumes the victim's brain and takes on his Zen approach to life. Meanwhile, Ravi's old boss, Katty Kupps, gets closer to discovering the truth and gets closer to Ravi; Blaine and Peyton continue their budding friendship, much to Ravi's dismay; and Major struggles a bit at his new job.


Imaginary Mary (ABC), Tuesday 9:30PM - "Prom-Com"

Andy has a hard time finding a prom date while Dora keeps turning away a guy who persistently asks her, but Alice tries to convince her to go. Meanwhile, Ben struggles to deal with kids growing up and tries to scare away Dora's date.


Cosplay Melee (Syfy), Tuesday 10PM - "Superheroes"

The cosplayers must create a vigilante superhero inspired by their favorite comic books.


Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Tuesday 10PM - "No Regrets"

The Americans (FX), Tuesday 10PM - "The Committee on Human Rights"

As Paige becomes even more enmeshed in her parents' world, tensions with Matthew Beeman come to a head, Philip and Elizabeth's honeytraps take surprising turns and Stan faces the consequences of overplaying his hand at the FBI.


Marvel's Rocket & Groot (Disney XD), Tuesday 10:28PM - "A Piece of Cake"

In search of easy credits, Rocket and Groot take on what seems like a cute and fuzzy bounty but it goes horribly wrong.

Archer tries to escape from jail with the help of a crazed heiress and a dysfunctional jazz quartet.

Powerless (NBC), Thursday 8:30PM - "Emergency Punch-Up"

The team gear up to leave for a company retreat when supervillain Dr. Psycho releases a toxic gas in Charm City, so Emily does her best to make the most of a terrible situation while stuck in the Wayne Security offices.

Friday, April 21

Independence Day (Syfy), 9PM

Revisit the '90s classic! An army of alien spaceships attack Earth and threaten to destroy the human race, but a handful of survivors band together to stop the invasion.

Class (BBC America), Saturday 10:05PM - "The Coach With the Dragon Tattoo"

Ram struggles to accept his new reality following the devastating events at prom. While keeping his distance from Charlie, April and Tanya, the football star witnesses someone getting skinned alive, which turns out to be the work of a horrific skin-peeling dragon.

Sunday, April 23

Once Upon a Time (ABC), Sunday 8PM - "Where Bluebirds Fly"

Destroying this sorceress will take the ultimate sacrifice.


Making History (Fox), Sunday 8:30PM - "The Godfriender"

Dan, Deb and Chris are stuck in 1920s Chicago, where Al Capone holds their time-travel bag hostage. Chris settles on a safe plan that uses history to take out Capone, while Dan and Deb try to befriend him instead and teach him how to be a better mobster – and husband.


The Leftovers (HBO), Sunday 9PM - "Don't Be Ridiculous"

Nora goes to St. Louis on business for the Department of Sudden Departure to investigate a possible scam that involves convincing family members of The Departed that they can see their loved ones again.

Elementary (CBS), Sunday 10PM - "The Art of Sleights and Deception"

A magician is killed while performing a classic stunt, triggering an investigation by Holmes and Watson. Meanwhile, a false allegation lands Bell in an Internal Affairs probe, and Watson suspects he's being targeted by his girlfriend's former husband.


Into the Badlands (AMC), Sunday 10PM - "Leopard Stalks in Snow"
