Make your own Baby Groot shoulder puppet and win the convention

I'm not alone in thinking that Groot was one of the best characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. But only Caleb Kraft of Make Magazine showed his love by making a semi-articulated Groot shoulder puppet.

Not only that, he demonstrates his work in this six-minute video so you too can make your own Groot to bring to your next fan gathering. You'll be the envy of your peers (and of Rocket Raccoon).

All you need is a brake cable, some flexible material, a piece of wood, some velcro, a hot glue gun, a 3D printer, an entire work room and more talent and patience than I have on my best day.

Kraft admits that a 3D printed version isn't ideal, as it's heavy. He also suggests some tips for the brake line to make Groot's head motion look more natural. I applaud his skills and his choice of character.

Also, it's way more tasteful than Peter Quill's Jackson Pollack painting.
