Did Henry Cavill just hint at a Green Lantern cameo in Justice League?

Superman may be letting us know that another DC superhero is a lock for the Justice League's big-screen rollout.

Rumors that Green Lantern -- or at least a member of the Green Lantern Corps -- will make a surprise appearance in either this November's Justice League or its sequel have been circulating for a while now, and star Henry Cavill is doing his part to add fuel to that fire.

Posting an image of himself working out -- presumably to stay in Superman shape for either additional shooting on Justice League itself or for Part 2 -- Cavill alluded that a knee injury had kept him out of the gym for a while but that he was now restarting his regimen. And then he added this:

“Just working towards improvement by pushing hard enough to elicit change. Nothing funny to post here, it’s deadly serious because I’ve got to make sure that I’m bigger than Green Lantern….Wait whaaat?”

As we said earlier, reports of someone from Team Green dropping in on the Justice League have been circulating for some time now. Even if they are true, we don't know if the member in question would be Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner or a Lantern from another planet/sector.

Warner Bros. also has a Green Lantern Corps movie dated for 2020, but we wouldn't be surprised if that release date changed. No cast or director have been named for the film, although there were also unconfirmed reports that the studio had narrowed its search for a star down to six men.

Cavill may just be having a laugh at everyone's expense, but introducing Green Lantern back into the DCEU after the disastrous 2011 film starring Ryan Reynolds may go down easier in the context of the Justice League. We'll just have to wait and see whether Cavill was being serious or not ...

Justice League -- starring Cavill, Ben Affleck (Batman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Ciaran Hinds (Steppenwolf), Jeremy Irons (Alfred), JK Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amber Heard (Mera) and Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta) -- arrives on November 17 while Justice League 2 does not as yet have a release date.
