Everyone’s favorite former S-Mart employee, Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), is returning for an encore this Sunday, when Ash vs. Evil Dead is back for a second season. You know what that means, right? It means 10 more glorious episodes of good old-fashioned Deadite-killing action, and to whet our appetite (not that it needs whetting, I'm sure), Starz has unleashed a new video featurette and a new clip.
Titled “How to Kill a Deadite,” the featurette looks at all the ways Ash and his faithful sidekicks Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) make minced meat of the various Deadites and demons they'll encounter in Season 2. It also provides a nifty behind-the-scenes look at the makeup process and the lengths the cast and crew will go to to satisfy viewers’ craving for as much blood and gore they can possibly get on the Starz horror show. As for the clip, we see Ash gearing up for war against the Evil Dead.
The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.
Season 2 will also see the return of Lucy Lawless as Ruby and will introduce new characters in Ash’s dad, Brock Williams (Lee Majors); Ash’s childhood BFF, Chet Kaminski (Ted Raimi); and Ash’s high school sweetheart Linda (Michelle Hurd). As for the new season’s Big Bad, Joel Tobeck (Hercules: The Legendary Journey, Sons of Anarchy) will play Baal, a demon from the underworld who will be “an enemy more powerful than any that have come before.” Bring. It. On.
Ash vs. Evil Dead returns for a blood-soaked 10-episode second season on Oct. 2.
