All the sci-fi TV shows and movies hitting Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu in October

You might as well go ahead and call October "Superhero Month."

Though Netflix’s Luke Cage is obviously leading the charge for what you should be bingeing in the month of October (though it technically drops Sept. 30), there’s still a ton of excellent movies and TV shows worth checking out along with Marvel’s latest offering.

If you’re looking for superhero stuff to binge once you've closed out Luke Cage, there’s enough hitting this month that you can literally stay on the couch until November. For real. There are also a few hidden genre movie gems worth looking up, too.

Check out the full list below and let us know what you’ll be streaming:

The Flash, Season 2 (October 3-6): With Season 3 of The CW’s hit series returning this month, you better catch up fast. Though the first season was excellent, the story of Barry Allen truly hit its stride in Season 2. It’s arguably one of the best seasons of a superhero show ever put to screen. You owe it to yourself to check it out (or just burn a long weekend getting reacquainted before Flashpoint).

Arrow Season 4 (October 3-6): You can’t have Flash without Arrow. The new season of The CW’s original DC series is also hitting Netflix this month, and it’s still a solid performer (plus you’ll need to watch Arrow to keep up with the Flash crossovers). This season takes a deep dive into the mystical, features some shocking twists, and also includes a memorable cameo from Matt Ryan’s Constantine. Not bad for Year Four.

iZombie Season 2 (October 3-6): It doesn’t exactly fit with the superhero fare, but you’d be remiss to skip The CW’s other DC series. iZombie is one heck of a fun, dark and funny series. The first season was excellent, and Season 2 only built on the quirky saga of a morgue employee who is actually a zombie. If you’re looking for something outside the box, you could do far worse.

Black Mirror Season 3 (October 21-26): The underground hit that streaming built. This British sci-fi anthology series is the spiritual successor to The Twilight Zone and we don’t use that phrase lightly. The series quietly became a monster hit after the first two seasons became available on Netflix, to the point the streaming service kicked in to actually bankroll this new season. Don’t miss it.

Smallville, Seasons 1-10: It’s been a long time coming, but the grandaddy of them all is finally available to stream in all its glory. Hulu will have all 10 seasons of Superman’s origin story up and running, and considering how far the genre has come in the years since, it could be a lot of fun to dive back down that rabbit hole. Though The CW’s current slate gets a lot of the credit, Smallville was doing the Justice League years before the Legends of Tomorrow were patrolling the universe.

StarTalk With Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Season 3: The live action version of Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s acclaimed podcast is one of the coolest (and geekiest) shows on late night, and the third season is here to enjoy at your leisure. He interviews everyone from scientists to celebs, but everything always circles back to the science. A breath of fresh air in a world full of Jimmys.

Kill Bill: Volumes 1-2: Quentin Tarantino’s acclaimed two-part assassin saga is hitting Hulu this month, and though you’ve probably already seen it, it’s still pretty great.

Stigmata: We’re digging all the way back to 1999 for this one, but if you’ve never seen it (or if its been a decade or so) you should definitely check it out. The supernatural horror flick tells the story of a young woman who starts experiencing the stigmata, and the priest tasked with unraveling the case. It flew under the radar, and didn’t get a lot of critical love at the time. But it’s really not that bad. Just give it a shot.

Let the Right One In: This acclaimed vampire story is well worth checking out if you’ve never seen the Swedish original (this version features English subtitles). If you want a sure bet import horror film, go ahead and add this one to the watchlist.

V/H/S: It’s Halloween, and if you’re looking for something a bit more outside the box than the usual slasher fare, this terrifying horror anthology is the perfect change of pace. Turn off the lights and ring in the scary season.
