We’re 10 days away from the premiere of Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Netflix has released a new behind-the-scenes video featurette asking, “Who is Luke Cage?”
The superhero series stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, who was first introduced in last year’s Jessica Jones, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Rosario Dawson, who is reprising her role of Claire Temple.
The 13-episode series is executive-produced by Cheo Hodari Coker (Notorious, NCIS: Los Angeles), who also acts as showrunner on the Marvel and Netflix superhero series. Dude even wrote the first two episodes. The video below features some new footage of the comic book series set in Harlem (as opposed to Hell's Kitchen for both Daredevil and Jessica Jones) as well as video interviews with Mike Colter, Cheo Hodari Coker, Rosario Dawson and Simone Missick.
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Marvel’s Luke Cage will arrive on Netflix on Sept. 30.
