The Hasbro Universe collides in this 7-page peek at IDW's Revolution #1

Seems like everyone is coralling their own collective playgrounds lately, and Hasbro is pitching their hat in the ring with the gathering of their many toys properties, M.A.S.K., G.I. Joe, Transformers, Micronauts, ROM and Action Man into a single shared superpowered universe. With feature films and/or TV series planned in the future, IDW's Revolution #1 kicks off the comic book corner of Hasbro's ambitious project, and we've got a colossal 7-page preview with all eight variant covers for this Earth-shattering crossover event.

Written by Cullen Bunn (Micronauts, The Sixth Gun) and John Barber (Transformers, Ultimate X-Men), with art by Fico Ossio (Critter, Skylanders), this will be an interesting visual experiment to observe as it unfolds.  The world-merging, five-issue Revolution event starts on Sept. 21 and will be released on a bi-weekly schedule, with tie-in issues accompanying the main series also starting this month across G.I. Joe, Micronauts and ROM.

Here's the official synopsis:

THE REVOLUTION BEGINS! Explosions rip across the Earth-and all signs of blame point to OPTIMUS PRIME and the TRANSFORMERS! G.I. JOE refuses to go quietly-and they assemble heroes big enough to stop the invaders! ACTION MAN and M.A.S.K. fight for humanity-but where do ROM and the MICRONAUTS stand? Celebrating more than a decade of stories by IDW and HASBRO, this unprecedented bi-weekly event draws everything together-and leaves nothing standing. The REVOLUTION is here-TAKE A STAND!

“Our heroes, whether they are from Earth or from distant reaches of the galaxy, all have one thing in common: their powers and abilities are based primarily on technology, noted Hasbro exec Michael Kelly. "We have been able to use this fact to build a natural and believable link between all of these disparate characters. The result is a complex and dynamic world where all manner of conflicts and team-ups can and will exist. If you are a fan of Hasbro’s brands, your time is now.”
