Listen, not all genre shows need to be so serious. Case in point, NBC's new genre comedy, The Good Place, starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Created by Parks and Recreation's Mike Schur and directed/co-developed by Drew Goddard, the former Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer and recent adapted screenplay Academy award nominee for The Martian, the series focuses on the recent death of sort-of-horrible Eleanor Shellstrop. Accidentally remanded to a heavenish place, Eleanor quickly realizes there's been a mixup, and she does everything she can not to be discovered and sent to a hotter destination.
Blastr recently spoke with Schur and Goddard about how they came together to work on the series, as well as why Bell and Danson decided to be part of the project. Plus, check out Bell's shoes!
