Constantine: The Complete Series scores Blu-ray release date, extras revealed

Ever since NBC unceremoniously pulled the plug, fans have been clamoring for an official release of the short-lived DC series Constantine. Now it finally has a street date.

Warner Archive Collection has announced a complete series Blu-ray release, compiling the entire 13-episode run into one place. Up until now, the only options for fans to revisit the series were scattered streaming services. So, for those wanting easy access to the Hellblazer, it’s a pretty big deal. The collection hits shelves Oct. 4.

The extra features list is admittedly a bit light, but hey, at least we’re getting a release (for a while there, it was starting to look like a lost cause). The extras include: the Constantine trailer; a featurette called “On the Set;” the 2014 Comic-Con Panel Q&A with the cast and creators; and a featurette on the DC Comics Night at Comic-Con 2014 presentation, which also featured Gotham, The Flash and Arrow.

"Actors don't generally like to revisit their own filmed performances, but I really enjoyed watching the episodes myself because Constantine is such a bold, outright character - both to play and to watch," star Matt Ryan said in a statement about the release. "He's this brilliant ball of wise-cracking, chain-smoking street magic - and it's so much fun exploring his fascinating, dark world of torment and mystery. I'm happy the fans will now have the opportunity to experience the series on Blu-ray, plus all the bonus features."
