I've had the great fortune of chatting face-to-face with Adam West and Burt Ward in Portland and it was a great thrill for this aging geek to hang out and joke with the pair who brought such unbridled joy to my childhood.
When the Batman TV series went into syndication in the '70s it was only an extinction-level event that could have pried my eyes away from reruns on our RCA television console. I'm happy that West and Ward are among us to experience the unprecedented revival of their campy superhero show in comics, games, collector figures and now a new animated feature showcasing their vocal talents along with original Catwoman Julie Newmar.
Check out this new commercial for DC's Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, with the Dark Knight and Boy Wonder trapped in a giant TV dinner headed for the flaming oven. The direct-to-video animated feature was directed by Rick Morales and will premiere at New York Comic-Con October 6, 2016, followed by a Digital HD release on October 11 and a home video Blu-ray and DVD drop on November 1.
