50 of NASA's best images of Earth

NASA, with help from allied nations and universities, has developed the world’s greatest satellites and telescopes. And with them, we’ve seen some jaw-dropping images of space. But not all of NASA’s lenses are pointed toward the final frontier. Some of them are focused on this beautiful blue-and-green planet of ours.

I have 50 of NASA’s best pictures of Earth, courtesy of its Image of the Day posts. These include some heavy weather, Norway’s lovely crinkly edges, and aurorae from above. A few of the landscapes lose coherence at a distance, so you’re not quite sure what you’re looking at. It’s enough to make an Abstract Expressionist gnash their teeth in envy.

And while I’m at it, I added images of low Earth orbit (LEO), because the International Space Station deserves much props and more love.

Check 'em out.
