While we wait with bated breath for Captain America: Civil War to be released on home video in just a few short weeks, a new deleted scene, as well as a blooper reel, have made their merry way online.
Let’s start with the blooper reel now, shall we?
The short one-minute video features hilarious outtakes and line flubbings from the cast. Watch Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen and Martin Freeman either goof around or completely scr*w up their scenes.
In the deleted scene, Bucky (Sebastian Stan), aka the Winter Soldier, picks up Cap’s (Chris Evans) iconic vibranium shield and throws it at War Machine (Don Cheadle) when Steve drops it during the airport battle scene. It all ends with Bucky having a bit of shield envy and quipping to his BFF: “I gotta get me one of those.”

So, why did the Russo Brothers cut that scene? Here's what they told Entertainment Weekly:
“The airport sequence was obviously complicated,” Joe Russo says. “We wanted to track everybody’s arc and we felt like it was a hair too long, and that beat was coming at a spot when the energy was dropping. We actually made that up on set. It was not scripted. We were looking for a transitional moment to get Cap and Bucky back together, but in editorial we ultimately realized we didn’t need that transition. It’s actually one of my favorite beats in that whole sequence, but it’s just a function of storytelling and editing, and wasn’t something we needed to tell the story, but it’s a great bit for the DVD.”
Those familiar with the Marvel comics and Captain America's history will already know that Bucky has picked up the shield as Captain America at one point. If that final battle between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America and Winter Soldier wasn't foreshadowing enough ...
Captain America: Civil War will be available for digital download on Sept. 2 and on DVD and Blu-Ray on Sept. 13.
