Massive, 30-disc Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit Blu-ray set will cost you $800

Clear off a prime spot on your home video shelf and make way for this massive new Blu-ray box set for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

It's a wallet-whomping, 30-disc dream collection of every Peter Jackson feature film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's most famous works, all bound in faux leather and cradled in a limited-edition handcrafted Hobbit-style shelf to display with geeky pride.  It's gonna be pricey, at a suggested cost of $800, but what a way to blow some serious cash. Look, let's get one single thing out of the way right now.

It will be mine!  My dog and I might have to share meals for a month or so (dry kibble), but I'll have My Precious.

Amazon just released the details of this epic gathering, titled the Middle-earth Limited Collector’s Edition, which contains the extended editions of all six of Peter Jackson’s fantasy films, from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and is due to arrive Oct. 4, 2016.

Pardon my impatience, but let's dispense with the introductory formalities and dig into the depths of this ultimate Blu-ray offering.  Here is the official description and press release
