Exclusive: Eph has a plan in The Strain Season 2 deleted scene

It's all-out war between vampires and humans when The Strain returns to FX for Season 3 this Sunday, Aug. 28. But before you check out how the viral vamp strigoi and their Master are faring against the humans armed with a bioweapon, now seems like a good time to revisit Season 2.

Lucky for you, then, that Season 2 drops on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow. And we have an exclusive deleted scene to reveal from it. In the following video, our hero scientist Ephraim Goodweather (played by Corey Stoll) discusses his plan to stop the vampire plague with his son Zach (Max Charles). Unfortunately, that plan involves dropping Zach off to live with his grandparents -- a move that leads to a father/son heart-to-heart in the midst of a pending apocalypse.

The scene, from the penultimate episode from the second season, "Fallen Light," is actually enlightening due to the fact that it smooths over some tensions between Zach and Eph, and fleshes out the latter's character more. Check it out and take a look at the official synopsis and features breakdown from The Strain Season 2 Blu-ray and DVD.

The mysterious epidemic transforming the citizens of New York into horrifying creatures continues to rage during the second terrifying season of this acclaimed horror series.  While doctors Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) race to create a biological weapon to destroy the creatures, Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) relentlessly searches for an ancient book that may hold the key to defeating the sinister “Master.” Aware that he is now hunted by his handful of unlikely allies, the Master creates even more unstoppable bloodthirsty monsters in this darkly thrilling show that delivers nonstop chills from the first episode through the climactic season finale!
