The Tick is big, blue and bulletproof in first footage from Amazon's new series

After more than a decade on the shelf, Amazon is bringing the big, blue bug of justice back to the small screen. Now we finally have out first look at The Tick in action.

Most fans still have fond memories of the short-lived Fox series from 2001, and though the wacky spirit lives on, this certainly looks and feels like The Tick for a new generation. The footage here opens with a dynamite action scene, as The Tick (Peter Serafinowicz) super-jumps into carnage and deflects about a million bullets on his way to taking out a dangerous gang. The action looks great, and still retains the zaniness of the franchise.

The second clip introduces us to Arthur (Griffin Newman) as we see The Tick exploring his apartment and trying to talk him into a superhero team-up. There definitely seems to be some nice chemistry between the two, and Serafinowicz looks to be bringing his own angle to the character as compared to Patrick Warburton’s previous version.

The full pilot dropped on Amazon Prime late last night, so check it out and let us know what you think!
