Cyborg will reportedly play supporting role in The Flash's 2018 solo film

With Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. showed they’re all about dropping the cameos — and it seems that cross-pollination will continue in 2018’s super-fast solo superhero adventure.

Variety reports Cyborg (Ray Fisher) will have a supporting role in 2018’s Flash film, which will star Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. The extent of his role is not known at this point, though it stands to reason it should at least be more than a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo (see: Miller’s Flash scene in Suicide Squad).

Miller will need some supporting players around him, and since Flash will be set after the first Justice League, he should be well acquainted with Vic Stone by then. Plus, it’s a chance to help lay some additional groundwork for that 2020 Cyborg film by piggybacking on a more well-known hero. Hey, if Marvel can team up Thor and The Hulk, why not a DC buddy comedy with Flash and Cyborg?

With Justice League and Wonder Woman both set to open next year, before Warner Bros. shakes this up with more solo pics in 2018, it’ll be interesting to see the state of the DC film universe at that point — and if they can finally get the quality up to match the fan enthusiasm.
