Lois Lane is streaking straight toward the wild blue yonder in this new DC Rebirth title from the pen of Wonder Woman's Phil Jimenez. Superwoman #1 glides into comic shops today, Aug. 10, and features storytelling by Jimenez and art by Jimenez and Matt Santorelli. The star reporter has gone from a humble writing desk and into the stratosphere helping to protect Metropolis following the death of Superman. Many women have inherited the mantle of Superwoman over the decades, and it's a novel concept that has been through the creative wash many times over the course of DC’s history. Lois first appeared as the caped crimefighter in 1943's Action Comics #60, when she dreamed of paranormal powers after a blood transfusion from the Man of Steel. She first officially gained enhanced abilities back in 1951 due to a diabolical experiment by ultra-genius Lex Luthor and was seen more recently in the Earth-3 universe as a member of the Crime Society.
