Image(s) of the day: Thor is on the case

Comic-Con fans recently got a taste of what Thor has been up to lately, and now a bit of it has surfaced online as well.

With filming on Thor: Ragnarok just underway, Marvel had no footage to show at Comic-Con in San Diego two weeks ago. But the studio did unspool a short and quite hilarious film from Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi that showed exactly what the God of Thunder had been doing during the events of Captain America: Civil War, and the results were ... interesting, to say the least.

Basically, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) headed down to Australia, where he moved in with a roommate named Daryl while continuing his investigation of who was trying to obtain the Infinity Stones. Thanks to an Instagram image posted by Waititi, we now can see some of the fruit of the Asgardian's labors:

As you can see, Thor has deduced that a rather large purple guy who enjoys sitting seems to be at the center of the efforts to seize the Stones. And that magic glove on his hand makes him even more suspicious. However, I think it's safe to say that Thor won't be drawing Thanos for Marvel Comics in real life anytime soon. We also got a look at Thor relaxing at home with his buddy Daryl:

As you can see, the Odinson has been quite busy since we last saw him battling an army of androids in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it's beyond any doubt that he was simply too tied up with his important work to help his friends during Civil War. Hopefully we'll see the whole mini-documentary soon, although it's likely to end up as an extra on the eventual Thor: Ragnarok Blu-ray.

In the meantime, as a bonus, here's an image posted from the set of Thor: Ragnarok -- where, you know, people are working for real -- by Tessa Thompson, aka Valkyrie:

Thor: Ragnarok is out in theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
