Image of the Day: Here's our first official look at Superman on The CW's Supergirl

We finally have our first official look at former Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin suited up as the Man of Steel on The CW's Supergirl

The image has Supes standing side by side with his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in a heroic pose. The super costume was designed by Kiersten Ronning (who didn't design Supergirl’s outfit -- that was Colleen Atwood) and was obviously inspired by DC Comics’ New 52 version (and Superman Returns, and Man of Steel). Hoechlin, who played werewolf alpha Derek Hale on four seasons of the MTV drama, recently confirmed he will also appear as Clark Kent on the superhero series.

Even though both are pretty similar, there are some notable differences between them especially the cape design, boots, belt and the House of El shield. And yeah, Superman isn’t wearing a skirt either. Obviously. Check it out below and let us know what you think. Does Superman's costume fly high for you?

Supergirl will premiere on Oct. 10 on The CW.
