TV THIS WEEK: Sharknado 4, Wayward Pines' finale, and more!

We're still in the quiet interim period of the summer where many of our currently running shows are wrapping and many of our new shows have yet to debut, but there's still an event or two to keep an eye out for this week. In the coming days we get season finales for both Wayward Pines and Preacher, a sneak peek at Syfy's Van Helsing, and of course, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

Check out the week in TV below. What's on your watchlist?

Steven Universe (TOON) Monday-Friday, 7 p.m.

New episodes all week! - When it comes to animated series that are just as appealing to adults as they are to children these days, Steven Universe has to be near the very top of the list. The adventures of a young boy and his magical alien friends continues to curry favor with a very enthusiastic fandom (just check Tumblr if you don't believe me), and it's right up there with Adventure Time and Rick and Morty in terms of cartoons grown-ups just go crazy for. This month, the show's third season has begun burning off episodes fast, running full weeks of new stories, and this week is no different. This five-night-a-week routine will continue right up into mid-August, so if you're a fan of the show, you're gonna get your fill.

Wayward Pines (FOX) Wednesday, 9 p.m. - "Bedtime Story"

Season finale! - Last year, Wayward Pines became a summer hit for Fox on the strength of its DVR ratings, pulling in more than 6 million viewers per episode. This year, those numbers are down, and we still don't know if the network will continue the series with a third and apparently final season. The show's still receiving a significant seven-day boost from DVR and streaming viewers, but it might not be enough this time, so we'll just have to watch and wait for now. This week, the Abbies are overtaking the town, and Theo faces a choice. Check out a preview below.

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens (Syfy) Sunday, 8 p.m.

Original movie! - That's right, Sharknado is back with another insane, cameo-packed installment of chainsaw-wielding madness. This time around, Fin and April have been enjoying a quiet, family life for several years, but when the sharknadoes return to strike Las Vegas, it's up to Fin to show the world how to beat this thing again. Look out for familiar faces including Gary Busey, Gilbert Gottfried, Steve Guttenberg, Carrot Top and more. Check out a preview below.

Preacher (AMC) Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Call and Response"

Season finale! - For comic book fans, Preacher was one of the most anticipated new shows of 2016, a chance to bring a beloved supernatural drama to the screen with enthusiastic showrunners and a talented cast. The question was whether casual viewers who don't read comics would respond with the same fervor. Well, it's paid off so far. With more than 3 million viewers per episode, Preacher is the second-best cable debut of the year so far, and a second season is on the way. This week, Jesse hopes to keep his promise to get answers. Check out a preview below.

Van Helsing (Syfy) Sunday, 10 p.m. - "Special Preview"

Preview special! - We don't get to see Van Helsing in full until the fall, but this week Syfy (Blastr's corporate parent - offering the chance to get a special peek at the new series.
