Special preview: Kara vs. Kryptonian werewolf in Supergirl Rebirth #1

On Thursday, DC's All-Access, No Boundaries panel at SDCC 2016 tossed the wrappers off many of their upcoming Rebirth titles, including a pair of comics featuring the continuing adventures and exploits of Kara Zor-El, aka SupergirlSupergirl Rebirth #1 is a one-shot that sends Kara on a quest to recover her paranormal powers and into a brutal showdown with Lar-On, a nasty Kryptonian werewolf.   Written by Steve Orlando (Midnighter, Batman and Robin Eternal), with art by Emanuela Lupacchino and Ray McCarthy, this book sets the tone and style of this revamped Supergirl that should appeal to both longtime comics fans and lovers of the TV show (now relocated from CBS to the CW).

Here's the solicitation synopsis:

Supergirl turns to the shadowy organization known as the D.E.O. (Department of Extranormal Operations) to restore her lost powers once and for all! But as a fateful experiment sends Kara Zor-El rocketing toward the sun, disaster strikes at home in the form of the lost Kryptonian werewolf Lar-On! All the epic action of the brand new Supergirl series starts here!

The second title teased was the debut of the new ongoing series, Supergirl #1, written again by Steve Orlando and complemented by art from Brian Ching (Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic, Witchblade).  Supergirl continues her Earthly defense duties with the Department of Extranormal Operations and has a chaotic family reunion with her android parent, Cyborg Superman.

“REIGN OF THE CYBORG SUPERMAN” part one! Supergirl is back and working for the DEO to defend National City! As Kara Danvers, average American teenager and high school student, Supergirl must balance her life as a superhero with her new life on Earth. But some demons from her Kryptonian past are coming back to haunt her, and Kara will find herself face-to-face with her father: the sinister Cyborg Superman!
