Reunions and zombie addictions: Fear the Walking Dead cast and show runner on Season 2

As we learned in Fear the Walking Dead, you can’t keep the undead from spreading. But you can keep the cast of Fear the Walking Dead in a room long enough for Blastr to interview them. We have the evidence, below.

Showrunner Dave Erickson had the most to say about the character of Nick and how his addiction seems to have shifted from heroin to adrenaline, fed by close encounters of the dead kind. That doesn’t bode well for Nick or for anyone around him. (“I walk among them, Mom,” he said in the midseason finale. Ew.)

What the ones who have feared the walking dead have learned over the course of one and a half seasons: Whatever safety they think they’re running to—another town, a ship—they don’t find it. The government isn’t helping, nor are doctors. In short, it sucks to be them.

At least the actors remain optimistic about their characters’ decisions. Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Danay Garcia (Luciana) and Frank Dillane (Nick) spoke to us about their characters’ growth and challenges. Debnam-Carey spoke about Alicia maturing from a teenager to a young woman; Garcia talks about Luciana acting as a beacon of stability; Dillane recognizes Nick’s curiosity.

Check out the video. And let us know in the comments how long you think Nick will last. (I give him another season and a half.)
