The first footage from Season 2 of The Man in the High Castle has been released during Thursday’s San Diego Comic-Con panel of the Amazon series. Ridley Scott -- who's an executive producer on the alternate-history sci-fi series -- is seen introducing the clip in the video below, since Scott was unable to attend the panel because the legendary director is currently knee-deep in production on Alien: Covenant in Australia.
The Man in the High Castle is based on the Philip K. Dick novel and stars Alexa Davalos, DJ Qualls, Luke Kleintank, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Rupert Evans, Bella Heathcote and Rufus Sewell, who were on hand at the panel along with executive producers Isa Dick Hackett and David Zucker. No premiere date was given for Season 2, but I’m crossing my fingers we’ll get to see the second season by the end of the year.
In the clip below, Juliana Crain (Davalos) is seen escaping the trunk of a car in motion. It also features new cast member Callum Keith Rennie, who seems to have some sinister designs on the show’s heroine. And no, not those kinds of sinister designs, you guys. Let’s just say Juliana got on the wrong side of the Resistance when she helped Joe Blake (Kleintank) escape instead of killing him like they wanted her to. Awww.
UPDATED: Amazon has also released a new official teaser trailer which gives us a few hints at what's in store for season 2. Things are about to get even more tense when the Emmy-nominated series returns!
