Vixen joins DC's Legends of Tomorrow for Season 2, but there's a catch

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will add a new passenger to The Waverider when the comic book series returns in the fall. TV Insider reports that the character of Vixen will be added to the series for Season 2. But there’s an itsy bitsy catch.

Instead of Megalyn E.K.’s Vixen, we’ll actually get a new/old Vixen, since the actress is unavailable (aka she's too busy) to reprise the role of Mari McCabe, the Detroit vigilante who was imbued with the animalistic powers of a sacred totem.

Instead of simply recasting the fan fave character, the show will introduce a new Vixen (casting is currently underway), who'll actually be an old Vixen, thanks to Rip Hunter (Arthur Darville) being a time traveler and all that. The site says “we're going to meet an earlier version of the character who may or may not share some sort of historical tie to Miss McCabe.” Hmm. Interesting.

This, in turn, leaves the door wide open for Megalyn E.K. -- who made a live-action appearance on Arrow this season -- to pop up on any of the Arrowverse shows (Arrow, The Flash, Legends and now Supergirl) if her schedule allows it. She’ll also continue to voice the role of Vixen in the CW Seed hit animated series of the same name.

What do you think? Are you disappointed it won’t be Megalyn E.K.’s Vixen who’ll be joining the crew of The Waverider for more time-traveling adventures, or are you psyched about the introduction of a new/old Vixen?
