Jesse Quick set to return for Season 3 of The Flash

When Season 2 of The Flash came to a close a few weeks ago, Earth-2’s Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and his daughter Jesse (Violett Beane) returned home, seemingly never to be seen again. Or so we thought. Now it looks like Jesse Quick will be reuniting with Team Flash -- but as which incarnation of Jesse?

While we know that Tom Cavanagh will return as a series regular for Season 3, the question of which version of Harrison Wells we'll get is still up in the air. As for Jesse, here’s what Beane told TV Line during last week’s Saturn Awards. “I know I’ll be back, but I don’t know if it’s with or without powers.”

If you guys will recall, when Barry (Grant Gustin) lost his powers to Zoom (Teddy Sears), Team Flash attempted to re-create the Particle Accelerator accident that turned him into a speedster at S.T.A.R. Labs, where Jesse and Wally West also got affected. As we all know, in the comic books, both she and Wally become speedsters -- as Jesse Quick and Kid Flash respectively -- but so far, none of them have manifested super speed yet.

“When Jesse got hit, I was like ‘It’s happening! It’s happening! There was the spark when she got out of the coma, but… it didn’t happen, and I was like, ‘No!’ I’m very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season. With the whole Flashpoint, anything can happen, right? It’s literally open to any different kind of false reality. She could be Earth-One Jesse, she could be a speedster…. Who knows!”

Are you looking forward to seeing Violett Beane return as Jesse? Do you think she'll be back as a speedster? Season 3 of The Flash will premiere on Oct. 4 on The CW.
