TV THIS WEEK: Steven Universe returns, Once Upon a Time's finale, and more!

It's May, which means all of the shows we saw debut in the fall are winding down their runs. To that end, we get the season finale of Once Upon a Time and The Vampire Diaries, and event episodes for Person of Interest. Plus, Steven Universe returns, and more.

Check out the week in TV below. What's on your watchlist?

Person of Interest (CBS) Monday and Tuesday, 10 p.m. - "SNAFU" and "Truth be Told"

Two-night event - We already know that Person of Interest is ending its run this summer, and now we know that the end will come a little sooner in the form of a series of two-night events. As the team continue their struggles, the series will condense down so we get two episodes a week, leading up to the series finale next month. We're in the home stretch with this show, which only seemed to get better as it went on, so get ready for the end. Check out a preview below.

Damien (A&E) Monday, 10 p.m.  - "Ave Satani"

Season finale! - We've reached the end of the grand experiment that was Damien, an effort to take the concept of The Omen and move it to long-form TV, but it may not actually be the end. The series has average a little less than half a million live viewers in recent episodes, but we still haven't heard it will return for a second year. This one really feels like a toss-up, but I wouldn't rule out another season of Antichrist fun.

Steven Universe (TOON) Thursday, 7 p.m. - "Super Watermelon Island" and "Gem Drill"

Season premiere! - For the last couple of years, Steven Universe has been celebrated as one of the most diverse, inventive and amusing animated series on TV, and now it's back for the start of a new season. We don't often cover animation that heavily on TV This Week, but Steven Universe is one of those special shows that seems to transcend age groups and genre, capturing the hearts of a wide range of viewers. Check out a preview below.

The Vampire Diaries (CW) Friday, 8 p.m. - "Gods & Monsters"

Season finale! - This time last year, it wasn't clear what would happen to The Vampire Diaries. Star Nina Dobrev announced her departure, leaving a gap in the story that the writers would be hard-pressed to fill. Well, it turns out they filled it well enough that the series will continue, and the show was among the many other CW series returning for another season when the network announced its renewals earlier this year. Season 8 will arrive in the fall. In the meantime, get ready for the finale with this preview.

Once Upon a Time (ABC) Sunday, 7 p.m. - "Only You" and "An Untold Story"

Season finale! - Once Upon a Time has already been granted another season, giving it a sixth year on the air this coming fall. It's been fascinating to watch this series ebb and flow as it continues to introduce more and more complex fairy tale plotlines, so the big question now is how far it will go for Season 6. What characters can we expect to debut the next time around? No doubt the two-hour finale will provide us with some clues.
