Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts reveals a revolting new trailer for his Clown

Seinfeld's Cosmo Kramer isn't the only one petrified of clowns, as a new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts' long-delayed indie horror flick, Clown, confirms.  Clown finally gets a wide summer release from The Weinstein Company this year and should freak out anyone suffering from severe coulrophobia. Prior to scoring the gig to direct Tom Holland in Marvel/Sony's next Spidey flick, coming in 2017, Watts co-wrote and directed a gruesome supernatural gem about a nice dad who sports a clown costume for his kid's birthday party, only for that cursed outfit to transform him into a demonic creature. Though finished a couple years ago, Clown had no major distributor until the folks at The Weinstein Company decided to take a risk on its release.

Here's the official synopsis:

CLOWN is a story of a loving father who dons a clown outfit and makeup to perform at his son’s sixth birthday, only to later discover that the costume – red nose and wig included– will not come off and his own personality changes in a horrific fashion. To break the curse of the evil outfit, the father must make grim choices with his own family facing danger.

Produced by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) and starring Andy Powers, Laura Allen and Peter Stormare, Clown leaps into theaters nationwide on June 17, 2016.  Take a peek at this terrifying trailer and tell us if it's bound to give you circus nightmares into next year.
