First trailer for NBC's Powerless name drops Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman

The first trailer for NBC’s DC Comics workplace comedy series Powerless has made its way online! Let's have a look.

The single-camera half-hour series stars Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical, Sucker Punch), Danny Pudi (Community), Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Christina Kirk (A to Z) and Atlin Mitchell (The Twilight Saga) as the Crimson Fox. Produced by Warner Bros. TV, Powerless was written and created by Ben Queen (Drive, Cars 2).

Although Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman are being name-dropped in the trailer, don’t expect any of those comic book A-listers to pop up on Powerless. In fact, the series will mostly feature fringe DC Comics superheroes such as the Crimson Fox, whom we can see in action in the trailer below. Also, Alan Tudyk playing a mean boss? I can get behind that. Check it out:

In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens stars as Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult ‘hero’ in her own right … even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.

What did you guys make of the trailer? Will you be tuning in for Powerless in the fall?
