Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o to join Marvel's Black Panther cast

Bolstering a talented cast led by Chadwick Boseman, Marvel's Black Panther feature is poised to add Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o to its acting ranks.  The Hollywood Reporter announced that there's no news of exactly what role she'll be playing, but it appears to be T'Challa's romantic interest the film. If not, perhaps it might be a key member of the Dora Milaje, Black Panther's imposing female bodyguards depicted in Captain America: Civil War, or former flame Malaika Another non-romantic possibility is Shuri, the Black Panther's sister.

Most recently, Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) did the motion-capture work for The Force Awakens' Maz Kanata and provided the voice for the wolf Raksha in Disney's The Jungle Book.  Written and directed by Creed's Ryan Coogler, Black Panther has a July 6, 2018, release date set, with film production starting in early 2017.

Are you excited to see Lupita Nyong'o starring beside Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther, and what Wakandan character could she be playing?
