Cult 1980s hit Danger Mouse returns in first trailer for Netflix’s run of the animated reboot

Along with cranking out a ton of original fare, Netflix is also digging up all the things you love and bringing them back to life. Up next for a revival? The beloved 1980s animated superhero series Danger Mouse.

The streaming service has dropped the first trailer from its 26-episode season of Danger Mouse, which showcases a bit of action and not much else. If you’re unfamiliar (go back and pick up the original series on Amazon, we’ll wait), the show focuses on a mouse secret agent who saves the world with cool gadgets and goes on zany adventures. The original show was a cult hit that ran for a decade, so you’d certainly think there’s more than enough nostalgia to mine with modern animation and a fresh voice cast.

The new series features Alexander Armstrong as Danger Mouse, Lena Headey as Jeopardy Mouse, John Oliver as Dr. Augustus P Crumhorn III, Kevin Eldon as Penfold, Stephen Fry as Colonel K, and Dave Lamb as the show’s narrator.

The first, 26-episode season of Danger Mouse drops today on Netflix. The series has already aired (and proven a hit) in the U.K. and is a Netflix acquisition in the U.S. market.

Editor's Note: This story has been updated to clarify the series first aired in the U.K. and has been acquired by Netflix.
