Here are five DC characters rumored for The Flash movie

With the superhero film set for a March 2018 release, Warner Bros. has begun to issue some casting calls to talent agencies for the DC characters that will join the Fastest Man Alive in director Seth Grahame-Smith’s The Flash movie.

The good folks over at Heroic Hollywood have managed to get their hands on some casting breakdowns that reveal the five main comic-book characters who may (it's unconfirmed for now) pop up alongside Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster, and fans of the comics and The CW’s Flash series, starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash, will no doubt recognize the names below.

The site also stresses that Iris West is the only character for whom actresses are currently being tested in Los Angeles so far, and since the following breakdowns are eerily similar to what’s currently being done on TV, they warn us to take it with a grain of salt. Here we go:

Iris West is described in the breakdown as having Christiane Amanpour’s brains and Carrie Bradshaw’s style. An overcaffinated doe. A reporter at The Central City Citizen. Actresses are currently testing for this part.

Eobard Thawne is described in the breakdown as Central City’s Bill Gates. The smartest man in the room and he suffers from advanced degenerative disease like Stephen Hawking. Thawne is confined to a chair.

Fred Chyre is described in the breakdown as a gruff detective who first meets Barry at the scene of a crime. Now they’re colleagues and the closest thing Barry has to a friend. Chryre is investigating the unusual death of someone at Thawne Laboratories

Len Snart is described in the breakdown as being ex-military and turns out to be working for Thawne. Have a feeling he is the muscle the way Anatoli Knyazev (aka the KGBEAST) was the muscle for Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Jay Garrick is described in the breakdown as being a former Central University professor who was fired for fringe science, and was working on the speed force program. Supposedly his role is just a cameo.

Fans will have noticed that these characters have previously appeared on The Flash in a more-or-less similar fashion — the prime example being Eobard Thawne, aka the Reverse-Flash, and the description is similar to the character we got to see on the superhero TV series with Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher in the role.

But there are also some differences in the character breakdowns as well.

Most notably, Fred Chyre, who was Detective Joe West’s (Jesse L. Martin) first partner on the TV series before he met his untimely demise in the pilot episode. In the comics, he and Barry were close. Also, “Len Snart” (aka Leonard Snart, aka Captain Cold), who's slightly different from his TV counterpart, played by Wentworth Miller. On The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, Snart is a world-class-thief-bad-guy-turned-hero and not the "muscle" for another character.

The Flash is set to open in movie theaters on March 16, 2018. What do you think?
