Image of the Day: Benedict Cumberbatch casts a spell in trippy new Doctor Strange poster

Along with last night’s mind-bending Doctor Strange trailer, Marvel has released a brand-new poster featuring the Sorcerer Supreme in all his spell-binding glory.

As opposed to yesterday’s first poster which showed Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch, who gave a decent stab at an American accent from what I could hear) gazing out the Window of the Worlds in his Sanctum Sanctorum -- with his back to us -- this time he’s facing us with a soul-piercing gaze, on the cusp of a magic spell, with swirling colors that simply look amazing. Have a look:

In Doctor Strange, famous neurosurgeon Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) suffers career-ending injuries in a devastating car crash. Seeking help in the furthest reaches of the world, Strange uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions!

Directed by Scott Derrickson, the Marvel movie also stars Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.

Doctor Strange will open in movie theaters on Nov. 4.
