Team Cap assembles and flies to action in first Captain America: Civil War clip

The Star Spangled Man With a Plan himself, actor Chris Evans, was on hand during last night’s MTV Movie Awards where the actor introduced the first clip from Marvel’s upcoming comic book movie, Captain America: Civil War.

In the clip, Cap (Chris Evans), Falcon (Antonie Mackie) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) spring into action when they track down former Strike member and Hydra agent Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones (Frank Grillo) -- whom we last saw burned to a crisp at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier -- to a heavily guarded building boasting some state-of-the-art poisonous gas.

In the action-packed scene below, each member of Team Cap gets a chance to shine by displaying their mad Avengers skills and powers. But for me, the highlight is that shot of Wanda using her powers to boost Steve up “Just like we practiced” to the third floor of a building where Rumlow is hiding out, with Cap crashing through the window to get inside. Check it out!

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War opens in U.S. theaters on May.

The Marvel movie also stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman.

Directed by Joe and Antony Russo, Captain America: Civil War will arrive in movie theaters on May 6.
