First synopsis and promo art for the Supergirl/The Flash crossover episode emerge

CBS has released the first official synopsis and promo art for the upcoming The Flash/Supergirl crossover (and cross-network) episode.

The highly anticipated Supergirl episode, titled “Worlds Finest,” will feature Grant Gustin’s (The CW's The Flash) Scarlet Speedster popping up in National City and meeting up with Kara (Melissa Benoist), with the two iconic DC Comics heroes coming face to face against the villainous team-up between Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci) and Livewire (Brit Morgan).

The synopsis also confirms that Supergirl and The Flash do exist in separate universes (as in Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-3, etc.) within the DC TV universe. Here it is:

“Worlds Finest” – Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, March 28 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network. Grant Gustin crosses over as The Flash.

As for the piece of promo art CBS has released, it’s a direct homage of the 1967 Superman #199 comic-book cover by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson, depicting “The Race Between Superman & Flash!” For the purpose of the crossover, it now becomes “The Race Between Supergirl & The Flash!” Very cool!!

The Supergirl episode “Worlds Finest” is set to air March 28 on CBS. Will you be tuning in?
