All the coolest cosplay from WonderCon 2016

This year, WonderCon took a one-year break from Anaheim, Calif., and moved further west to downtown Los Angeles. The City of Angels put forth a fine effort. Even Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti came out to greet the attendees and seize the opportunity to impress the con organizers. Soon after, it was announced that WonderCon would in fact return to Anaheim for three more years, starting in 2017.

So, as the location of WonderCon shifts back and forth from one place to another, the show itself stands as a relief compared to its big brother in the summer. The aisleways had plenty of elbow room to move and breathe, and we saw something new that we might see at Comic-Con: magnetic badges to prevent fakery.

Despite the changes, the cosplay at Wondercon remains at a high level. The Los Angeles Convention Center has a concourse pit next to the exhibit hall where one could spend hours walking around to people-watch, mingle or simply gawk at hundreds of cosplayers and their creativity.

Blastr's Ernie Estrella and Mike Avila were in attendance, and when they weren't in the press rooms, they were capturing some of the best crafted costumes of the weekend. Trending upward are Force Awakens costumes, especially Rey and Kylo Ren, New 52 Harley Quinn and variations of Deadpool. Also, more cosplayers are creating their own looks and proudly calling them original. Check out our gallery below and tell us which ones impressed you.
