Image of the Day: Here's the first official look at Luc Besson's new sci-fi movie Valerian

Luc Besson has revealed the first official look at Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne for his upcoming sci-fi space opera Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

The legendary filmmaker of The Fifth Element posted the official image on his Twitter page, promising more info to come.

The movie is the big-screen adaptation of classic French sci-fi comic-book series Valérian and Laureline, written by Pierre Christin and illustrated by Jean-Claude Mézières, that ran from 1967 to 2010. Here’s a brief synopsis for the movie:

Time-traveling agent Valerian is sent to investigate a galactic empire, along with his partner Laureline.

DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) is, of course, playing Valerian, while Delevingne (Suicide Squad) is playing Laureline. Also starring in the movie are Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, Herbie Hancock, Rutger Hauer and Clive Owen as Commander Arün Filitt.
