Image of the Day: Count the galaxies in this lush, new Hubble Space Telescope view

The Hubble Space Telescope's ever-searching eye has delivered a jaw-dropping new image of our universe, peering into one of the deepest corners of the heavens yet seen.  The result is a chaotic kaleidoscope of stars and galaxies that scientists can compare to different deep field views taken of other parts of the cosmos.

In October 2013 Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) and Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) initiated observations of this strip of sky as part of NASA's Frontier Fields program. This stunning skyscape was captured during the study of the giant galaxy cluster Abell 2744, AKA Pandora’s Box.  While one of Hubble’s cameras zoomed in on Abell 2744, the other camera concentrated on this parallel patch of sky close to the cluster.

Have a look into this awesome ocean of sparkling galaxies and try not to get lost.
