Pamela Anderson finds the singularity in trippy new short film Connected

The creepy new short film Connected is set in the near future, and is the freaky sweet spot between New Age spiritualism and brain implants. Interested?

The short stars Pamela Anderson as a high-tech spin class instructor in the midst of a midlife crisis (you can find the trailer here). So she tracks that line until it leads her to a Stepford-esque meditation center where everyone is a little too connected. It’s a neat premise, and pulls at some interesting threads without really making any hard determinations, giving it an even creepier vibe by the time the 10-minute run time wraps up.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Connected, by Luke Gilford, is a portrait of a woman grappling with aging, self-perception, and transformation in a technologically optimized world. Jackie (Pamela Anderson) is a burnt-out AuraCycle instructor in the midst of a midlife crisis. She's obsessed with self-improvement podcasts (voiced by Jane Fonda), and she is soon drawn to an advanced yet enigmatic wellness spa that promises to enhance her mind, body and soul. Guided by her effortless and nubile mentor, Luna (Dree Hemingway), Jackie will give up anything to feel “connected" -- to herself, to the future, and to a precarious sense of perfection.
