Marvel unleashes our first look at the All-New Wasp

We've known for a while that Marvel was replacing Janet Van Dyne as The Wasp, and we now have our first look (via the good folks at Newsarama) at the All-New Wasp set to make her buzzing debut in one of the two Free Comic Book Day Marvel one-shots come May 7.

However, the awesome Alex Ross illustration you'll get to see below will actually be the cover of the All-New All-Different Avengers #9, also hitting comic-book-store shelves in May.

The solicitation for Mark Waid and Mahmud Asrar's newest issue reads: “New Story Starts NOW! Introducing the all-new Wasp! Who is she? What is she? And what does she intend to do about Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?”

Alas, no details about the All-New Wasp were given, and her secret-identity is still shrouded in mystery, but the site points out to the costume design similarities with the MC2 Universe’s Hope Pym, aka Red Queen, a character used by the MCU as the inspiration for Ant-Man’s Hope Van Dyne, played by Lost's Evangeline Lilly.

This is interesting because Lilly's Hope Van Dyne will suit up in her mother's superhero costume to fight crime and maybe save the world alongside Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) Ant-Man in director Peyton Reed’s upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6, 2018).

Check out the cool Alex Ross cover featuring the All-New Wasp and The Vision, and let us know what you think.
