An R-rated director's cut of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is coming

For those who were wondering if Zack Snyder would make an R-rated version of his upcoming superhero movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we have the answer.

According to the good folks at Stitch Kingdom and the Classifications and Ratings Administration, Batman v Superman will be getting an R-rated Ultimate Edition release on Blu-ray. Hooray!

The movie will be rated R for sequences of violence (so probably no naked bits of anyone, you guys) and the new cut will be an edited version that'll be different from the PG-13 movie that will hit the big screen on March 25.

I don't know about you, but this is the version I'm going to be looking forward to seeing the most. I wonder if that awesome Batman fight sequence we saw at the start of the final Dawn of Justice trailer will get even bloodier.

This is not the first time director Zack Snyder has released an R-rated version of his films. His ultimate director’s cut of Watchmen was amazing and SO MUCH BETTER than the version screened in movie theaters (It would've been hard for it to be worse - Ed.).

And although the first thing that comes to mind is DEADPOOL EFFECT!!! I don’t think that this cut of Batman v Superman is being made in reaction to the success of Deadpool, but we can definitely point the finger at the Ryan Reynolds movie for ushering a new era of upcoming R-rated superhero films -- see Wolverine 3.
